Texas teachers seeking CS certification should take note that Texas Educator Certification Examination Program, currently being administered by ETS, will transition to a new vendor, Pearson, on September 1, 2018. See below for more information from ETS and some helpful links.
Unfortunately, we do not currently have any information on CS certification testing windows for the 2018-19 school year and may not until after the transition takes place in September, however, we will update our documentation and spread the word as soon as we have the new testing schedule and deadlines. While this transition may be confusing for some, there is some good news. The Certification Incentive Program (CIP) will continue this fall and we will update our CIP Checklist with the latest information as soon as we have it. So if you were unable to get certified this summer and are planning to do so this fall, you can still get prepared, get certified, and get your stipend!
Please Note
This transition does not effect the August Testing Window – If you are planning to take the CS certification exam in August, nothing has changed. Continue with your preparation for the exam. Good Luck!
The Certification Incentive Program (CIP) will also operate normally for the August Testing Window – If you are planning to participate in the CIP for the August Testing Window, then continue to follow the CIP Checklist. Applications are due on August 13th.
Texas Educator Certification Program Vendor Transition
Management of the Texas educator certification examinations will transition from ETS to a new vendor, Pearson, beginning September 1, 2018. ETS will continue to manage all administration and reporting activities through August 31, 2018. You should continue to utilize the ETS website, systems and support contacts that are currently in place through the end of August.
Please refer to the newly updated Texas Educator Certification Examination Program Transition Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) and Educator Testing Transition flyer for information regarding the transition. Ongoing updates will be provided by both vendors and the TEA in the coming weeks.
