On Jan. 19, Senior Vice President and CFO Darrell Bazzell announced a delay in the implementation of Workday, a cloud-based system to replace our current human resources, payroll, and financial systems. The decision to delay fell in line with recommendations made by consultant KPMG as part of their Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) assessment of the program.
Since that time, the Workday Implementation Program has been working to revise project plans and are now back in implementation mode with their first major activity with campus stakeholders, HCM/Payroll Design Confirmation Sessions.
Design Confirmation Sessions are a key component to moving forward with the Workday HCM/Payroll implementation after the Workday reset. The primary goals of these sessions are to provide participants with an understanding of how Workday HCM/Payroll has been configured to meet business requirements and confirm that the university can continue doing business at go live, and to solicit common use cases from units. These sessions are not intended to be training sessions.
Chief Business Officers from Colleges, Schools, and Units have determined who should attend in person, the sessions are all livestreamed and archived on the Workday@UT website along with synopses of each session and links to all materials used.
These sessions will run through July and September. Check the Workday@UT website for continued updates on these sessions and for access to materials.
