As employees at The University of Texas, we look forward to receiving on-time paychecks. Whether students, faculty, or staff, we rely on Payroll Services to process our salary and wages accurately, as well as any deductions or withholdings required to comply with state and federal law. We have confidence in Payroll and their ability to work cross-functionally with departments and agencies, human resources and accounting to ensure the entire business runs as smoothly as possible.
Since 2014, UT Austin staff, including the Payroll team, has been working hard to prepare for Workday, a new software system being launched this fall that will improve and modernize our human resources and payroll processes. Many of the Payroll staff have been pulling double duty for the last few years, working to implement the system, while still ensuring university employees are compensated on time with little to no glitches each and every pay period.
“That’s teamwork,” said Leslie Saucedo, who serves as the director of UT Austin’s Payroll Services department and has been instrumental in leading their Workday implementation efforts. “Every day, we are working as a unified team to transition from *DEFINE (the university’s mainframe computer system) to Workday, yet keep current operations running as they should.”
