I-9 Partner Reminder: Continue to Complete Section 2 of the Form I-9 While E-Verify is Down
This is a reminder that even though E-Verify is currently down due to the government shutdown, I-9 Partners should still continue to complete Section 2 on time in order to allow all necessary onboarding processes to trigger for new hires. The Final U.S. Verification of Employment step related to E-Verify can be left alone until E-Verify Services are operational again. Once E-Verify Services are operational again, click the “Retry” button to trigger the E-Verify process and complete the I-9.
More information and guidance on what to do while E-Verify is down, see the askUS article.
