Encourage Faculty, Staff, and Student Employees to Opt Out of Paper W-2s
Payroll Services has sent communications out to employees to prompt them to update their preferences in Workday to only receive an electronic W-2 if they do not want a paper W-2. Workday defaults to send users both an electronic version and a paper version of their W-2. Wherever possible, please encourage employees in your areas to update their preferences.
See the email notification from Payroll Services to employees with instructions.
Spread the Word: Current UT Employees Must Apply to Jobs Through an Internal Job Board
With Workday, there are two separate job boards for candidates external to the university and for those who are current employees. Current employees should access the job board inside Workday using this link. Current employees cannot submit an application and be considered for hire if they use the external job site. Both links are linked off of the “Jobs” section of the UT website and the “Apply” page of the Human Resources website. If you have any suggestions on how to educate current employees on the internal job board, please email workday@austin.utexas.edu.
Changes Put in Place to Standardize I-9 Process
The configuration surrounding the I-9 process has been slimmed down to the Workday standard process. Previously, employees were not receiving the I-9 step when they should and in some cases, they were receiving an I-9 step when it was not necessary. This was the unintended consequence of attempting to accommodate many different exceptions in the process. Read the email sent to I-9 Partners and Recruiters on Jan. 17 with more information.

This session will include information regarding Workday tasks and best practices for onboarding and I-9 processing. This event will be livestreamed and video will be posted to the Workday@UT website after the event. (EID and password required)
