The Basics of Inbox Filtering in Workday
Inbox filters enable you to limit the action items you see in your Inbox. You can define an Inbox filter for specific business processes, then define conditions that must be met for the Inbox to display the action item. Workday resets to your full Inbox view after you leave your session. The Inbox filter is available on the Inbox Actions tab. It cannot be shared with others.
There are some global filters in Workday that allow you to sort by favorites, items Effective in the Past, Effective Today, and Effective this month. There are two new global filters in Workday:
- All Tasks Except Timesheets displays all actions in a user’s inbox except timesheets.
- My Direct Reports allows you to see action items pertaining to direct reports.
This WIG provides step by step information on how to set up other filters such as filters for organizations or by job family.
