Sierra Castedo is the Director of the Center for Students in Recovery (CSR) at UT Austin, which is a program within the Division of Student Affairs. CSR Program Coordinator John Harris may take Sierra’s place when she is absent. CSR is a supportive community for students in recovery or seeking recovery from addiction and features peer support meetings, a dedicated space in Bellmont Hall, and a variety of sober social activities, service opportunities, and educational opportunities.

CSR is also involved with collaborations across campus and in the community, including the Recovery Oriented Community Collaborative, the Youth Recovery Network, the Committee on Substance Safety and Overdose Prevention, the High-Risk Drinking Prevention Committee, the BeVocal initiative, the Healthy Lifestyles Living Learning Community, and is planning to begin a Recovery Ally Training program in the Spring of 2018. Sierra is the Southwest Region Representative for the Association of Recovery in Higher Education, the national organization for collegiate recovery programs, and is a person in long-term recovery.
