I am writing with a quick update about fall 2019 freshman admission decisions.
Our final decision release date was Friday, March 1. All students who submitted a complete application by the deadline received an admission decision by March 1. Decisions were released through MyStatus.
We have been hearing from students who have received their admission decisions and a number of the inquiries we are receiving at this time are related to appeals.
As a reminder, information about the admission appeals process can be found at https://admissions.utexas.edu/apply/decisions/appeals. Students wishing to appeal their admission decision must submit their appeal by March 15. An applicant for admission should submit an appeal only if there is new, significant and/or compelling information that was not previously provided at the point of application.
Submitted, complete appeals will be carefully reviewed and decisions rendered on the appeal no later than April 1. Appeal decisions will be released through MyStatus. If you or your students have questions about the appeal process, please contact us directly and one of our admissions counselors will assist you.
We are also starting to hear from admitted students about their next steps to enrollment. I will send a separate update, Next Steps for Admitted Students, soon. In the meantime, please let me or our team know if we can assist you or your students as they make their plans for next fall.
