We have examined how adults of different ages react to problems in their ties. Our studies suggest older adults are adept at handling problems in their relationships, and their relationship partners also react more positively to older adults. We currently are studying social ties and daily experiences in late life. For more information about this study please see the National Institute of Aging funded The Daily Experiences in Late Life Study R01AG046460.
Our research team also focuses on relationships between adults and their parents. Collectively, our research helps explain how people’s relationships may enhance their well-being throughout adulthood. For more information about this study please see that National Institute of Aging funded The Family Exchanges Study R01AG027769.
