Hey members,

Some of you were probably worrying. Everyone was wondering what was going to happen in November. Well… Study hours are making their triumphant return on November 17th from 6:00-9:00 pm! Study hours never take a break!* One more chance for the semester to hang out with your spectacular secretaries while studying for tests! Also, there’s other officer stuff. There’s a public Facebook page for new members! You can like it Here. It would really improve our self-esteem. The Gigglepants social is this Friday, November 11th! Meet us on the steps of the Tower at 6:40pm and walk with us to the show! ALDPES is also volunteering at Pleasant Hill Elementary for Texas Kids Read November 14th at 6:00pm! Sign up Here! Caring For Camo is also a service opportunity that can happen at any officer’s office hours! Stop by and write letters! Banquet is approaching, and a sign up will be available soon!  Also, if you only joined one organization (ALD or PES) but want to join the other too, just email the ALDPES email below! Missed meeting point opportunities keep piling up. Another opportunity came up just after this meeting. Just bring two items from the GMT donation list below during office hours before the next meeting! Our next meeting will be Wednesday, November 16th, 2016 at 6:00 pm in CAL 100 (South of the Tower). Hope to see you all there.

*Except when they do

Best,

Christian Rivera

Phi Eta Sigma Secretary

Fun Fact of the Week: Subliminal messaging only works if you’re already self-motivated. Just in case someone starts subtly bringing up Chipotle more than the average person. That would be in excess of three times a week if you need a reference.

Guest Speakers of the Week

Gigglepants

Improv comedy shows. It could happen to any of us. This week it happened at our meeting. Gigglepants is UT’s exclusive short form improv group! Watch their shows for completely unique experiences every time! You can find their website Here!

Interested in being an awesome person and learning more about muscular dystrophy?  That’s so crazy because the Muscular Dystrophy Association was just at our meeting to tell us how to do that exactly! The MDA is looking for people to volunteer in various aspects of their organization including an epic summer camp extravaganza for children with muscular dystrophy! Social Events

Gigglepants

Many came out of our meeting this week and thought, “I need more Giggle pants in my life.”  So there’s a Gigglepants Social on Friday, November 11th at 7pm. It will be just like the meeting except the content, crowd and generally everything will be different! That’s the power of improv! Meet us on the steps of the tower at 6:40!

Food truck social

There’s gonna be food from trucks. I just don’t know how to sell you on this if it’s not appealing to you, except by saying that its good food from trucks. Come eat at the food trucks on the corner of 26th and Rio Grande on November 16th with ALDPES! Its right after the meeting (7pm)!

Mt. Bonnell

Sometimes, you just got to hike a small mountain. This is that time. Really earn that social point with ALDPES on November 20th. Time coming soon!

Banquet

ALDPES is having its banquet at Brick Oven Pizza December 2nd at 7:00pm! Banquet is free for active members! Be a part of the last opportunity to eat pizza with ALDPES for the year! Maybe look fancier than usual doing it too.
