ALDPES NEWSLETTER
Wednesday, April 26th, 2017
Alpha Lambda Delta | Phi Eta Sigma
The University of Texas at Austin Chapter
Hey ALDPES-ers,
If you are still trying to become active for banquet, make sure you get all your points by 11:59pm on Wednesday, May 3rd. There are TWO more service opportunities and ONLY ONE more chance to get your social point, so make sure to get those if you still need them!
We also wanted to send out a big thank you for all the members who helped make Bridging the Gap and the Chipotle Profit Share successes. We really appreciate all of your support, and we couldn’t do this without ya’ll! =)
Our last meeting will be next Wednesday, May 3rd in WEL 3.502 from 6:00 – 7:00pm. Hope to see you there!
Best,
Alan Stepchinski
Alpha Lambda Delta Secretary
Fun Fact of the Week:
There are opportunities for FREE MONEY within this newsletter. Just check out the scholarships section below! The applications are not difficult, and your chances of getting one are pretty high.
On a related note, the government cannot actually print money. The Federal Reserve has the power to do so, and then the government can borrow money from the Fed. Our money system is complicated.
Upcoming Guest Speakers
Next week – Hopefully therapy dogs!!
Guests of Speakers Past
April 19th – Lang Stuttering Institute Student Leadership Organization
Our very own Heather Grosenbacher talked last week about the Lang Stuttering Institute!! This organization educates people on what stuttering is and what it is like to live with a stutter. Check out their Facebook here or the official webpage here!
April 5th – GMT and Princeton Review
Global Medical Training is an organization with UT that takes medical donations and prepares students to provide healthcare in other countries. If you are interested in finding out more about them, visit their website here!
Also, if you are planning to go to school after undergrad (grad school, med school, law school, etc.) and you want some extra help preparing for tests, check out the Princeton Review here!
