UT Austin’s Alternative Breaks (AB) program sends small groups of college students to communities outside central Texas to engage in meaningful service during their academic year breaks. Students perform short-term projects for community agencies and learn about issues facing those communities. Being immersed in diverse environments enables participants to experience, discuss, and understand social issues in a significant way.
