Indirect Selective Laser Sintering of Ceramics

Selective laser sintering is an additive manufacturing process that can be can be used to produce ceramic parts by utilizing a polymeric binder to fuse ceramic powder particles layer by layer. Post processing consists of pyrolysis of the polymeric binder before sintering the parts to full density. This project aims to determine the factors that control the ability to control feature sizes and geometries for indirect SLS of ceramic parts. This project is supported by Exxon-Mobil.
