An important new opportunity is The ANA’s Healthy Nurse, Healthy Nation™ (HNHN) Grand Challenge. This is a social movement designed to transform the health of the nation by improving the health of its 3.6 million registered nurses. The HNHN Grand Challenge will encourage us all to engage in self-care activities, as we learn and practice how to take care of others. The Center for Transdisciplinary Collaborative Research in Self-Management Science (TCRSS) in collaboration with our SON Wellness Committee and other SON initiatives are helping to bring this mission of self-care into our day-to-day activities.
To help us get started in 2018, we have registered the School of Nursing as a “Premier Partner” with the HNHN Grand Challenge. This program offers information, resources and numerous activity challenges to set and meet your own personal goals.
Please sign up for this program at: http://www.healthynursehealthynation.org/ and take the Healthy Nurse Survey to learn more about your personal risks. There is no added commitment; the extent to which you use this resource is entirely up to you.
To Register: http://www.healthynursehealthynation.org/
- Join as an individual
- In your profile, select The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing as your affiliated organization,
- Take the Healthy Nurse Survey
- Explore the website to find information and resource that might be helpful to you.
Once we have at least 25 people register, affiliate with our SON and complete the survey, we will receive an aggregate summary that will help us guide future programming and resources to improve the well being of our SON community.
Please contact Jacki Hecht in TCRSS: jhecht@nursing.utexas.edu with any questions about this exciting opportunity.
