NACNS and the National Student Nurses Association is pleased to offer a series of free webinars designed to help nursing students and nurses young in their career make the most of their profession and future career choices.
Join the first webinar, Learning About the CNS Role, on February 20 from 2:00 to 3:00 pm ET to explore the role of the clinical nurse specialist (CNS).
This webinar will explain how these expert clinicians apply their advanced education and training in care of a specialized area of nursing practice and work in a wide variety of health care settings. It will break down how CNS work can be be defined by:
- population (such as: pediatrics, geriatrics, women’s health);
- setting (such as: critical care or emergency room);
- disease or medical subspecialty (such as: diabetes or oncology);
- type of care (such as: psychiatric or rehabilitation); or
- type of problem (such as: pain, wounds, stress).
NACNS 2018-2019 President-Elect Anne Hysong, MSN, APRN, CCNS, ACNS-BC, will discuss the importance of the CNS role, including a day in the life of a CNS. If you know of someone who wants to be a clinical expert; a clinical leader; bring change to your unit or facility; or think quality care is essential – share this webinar notice and encourage them to explore the CNS role!
The second webinar in the series, How to Get the Most Out of Clinical Orientation, will feature a presentation from an award-winning preceptor later this spring.
