Semester-Long Career Fair

Semester-Long Career Fair

What is better than a career fair that lasts just a little more than half a day? One that lasts an entire semester! Introducing the Semester-Long Career Fair brought to you by the Career Services team from the Office of Student Services at the School of Nursing!

What is in the Semester-Long Career Fair for School of Nursing (SoN) students?

Both you and employers have more quality time for meaningful, face-to-face interaction for networking and learning about each other. Best of all: the semester-long concept has been designed to give you a competitive advantage in the career learning and searching process by having employers come to campus to provide face-to-face meet-and-greet and information sessions coupled with guaranteed (most employers) on-campus interviews!

How does the Semester-Long Career Fair work?

Employer Side

Employers will be on campus at selected times throughout the Spring 2018 semester to hold meet-and-greet and information sessions to connect with ALL interested undergraduate and graduate students. In most cases, their sessions will be coupled (on the same day or at a later date) with a guaranteed interview for targeted classification (e.g., freshmen, sophomore, juniors, seniors, graduates) of students who attend. That is, targeted students are guaranteed a first-round on-campus interview! In some cases, the first-round is the final-round interview.

Student Side

  1. RSVP for the meet-and-greet and information sessions of your choice (as many as you like).
  2. Show up on time for the session(s) for which you sent in RVSPs.
  3. RSVP for interview(s) that interest you. Only students listed under the recruitment target section will be selected for interviews. The RSVP window will close 1-2 days in advance of the presentation.
  4. Prepare for and show up on time for the interview(s).

Professional Etiquette & Expectations

  • Business casual attire is required for meet-and-greet and information sessions. Business professional is required for interviews. Students who do not follow the attire requirements will be asked to leave the session and/or interview.
  • RSVPing for sessions and interviews are required for attendance. RSVP numbers also help employers plan for enough materials, seating, and representatives.
  • Students who are no-shows for their sessions and/or interviews will lose the privilege to attend future sessions and interviews.
