The Physics Department of the Naval Postgraduate School invites applications for a tenure track faculty position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level with expertise in one or several areas of acoustics that include acoustic sensor design for material characterization, acoustic spectroscopy, sonar transducer design and testing, and ocean acoustics. University of Hawaii at Manoa
The Department of Ocean and Resources Engineering, School of Earth and Ocean Science and Technology, University of Hawaii at Manoa is advertising a tenure track assistant professor position. The desired candidate has a focus on ocean sensing, underwater robotics, autonomous surface and underwater vehicles, or related topics. The posting can be found here. Acoustic Engineer Position at Ball Aerospace

Ball Aerospace is seeking college students who are about to graduate with experience in acoustics for an Acoustics Engineer Associate position in Dayton, Ohio. The ideal candidate has a BS or higher in Acoustics Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field. They will support a wide range of defense-related projects in noise and physical acoustics such as aircraft noise, impulsive weaponry, hearing protection, structural acoustics, and communications.

Faculty Position at Scripps Institute of Oceanography in San Diego

Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO) at the University of California San Diego invites faculty applications at the levels of both Assistant and Associate Professor. The desired candidate is a motivated, broad-thinking scientist-educator who will establish a vigorous research program and provide intellectual leadership in his or her field while complementing existing expertise at Scripps and other UCSD departments. The deadline for applications in 31 January 2019.
Of particular interest are applicants with a research focus on experimental ocean acoustics. Of interest are all aspects of acoustics in the ocean including but not limited to: marine physics and the theory/modeling of sound propagation underwater including interaction with the boundaries, the sources and spatial/temporal structure of ambient sound, the development of innovative signal processing and parameter estimation approaches for use with data collected from arrays of acoustic sensors, and acoustic sensing technology development.

Scholarships from the Acoustical Society of America

The Acoustical Society of America is offering two scholarships for graduate students who are enrolled in graduate degree-granting programs in Architectural Acoustics, Noise Control, and Engineering Acoustics, including applications of linear and nonlinear acoustics, transduction and transducers, acoustical measurements, instrumentation, and applications of signal processing to any of the aforementioned areas. The two scholarships are:

The Leo and Gabriella Beranek Scholarship in Architectural Acoustics and Noise Control
Stipend: $30,000

The Frank and Virginia Winker Memorial Scholarship for Graduate Study in Acoustics
Stipend: $6,000

Call for Applications: Chateaubriand Fellowship 2019-20

The Chateaubriand Fellowship is a grant offered by the Embassy of France in the United States. It supports outstanding Ph.D. students from American universities who wish to conduct research in France for a period ranging from 4 to 9 months. Chateaubriand fellows are selected through a merit-based competition, through a collaborative process involving expert evaluators in both countries.

Tenure Track Faculty Position at the US Naval Academy

Internship Opportunity at Air Force Research Lab

The US Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) is seeking a full-time engineer or scientist to participate with the Battlespace Acoustics Branch in Wright-Patterson Air  Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. The internship will last for one year beginning Fall 2018. In the Battlespace Acoustics Branch, the successful applicant will assist with
measurement, evaluation, and advanced research of defense-related noise topics such
