holidayAnnual Holiday Gathering
In early-December, we celebrate the festive holiday season with UT Staff, Faculty, Administrators, Community Leaders, Friends & Guests. We also honor the contributions of faculty and staff to BFSA and the university community.  This is an opportunity for us to show our appreciation to our membership, award our Dr. James L. Hill Education Scholarship, and be thankful for another year of success as an organization.

Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Luncheon
Every January we host our campus-wide Martin Luther King, Jr. Legacy Luncheon. The goal of our luncheon is to reflect on Dr. King’s legacy and acknowledge the impact of diversity on campus. We want to continue to encourage our students that diversity is necessary and it strengthens our community. Your involvement with this program is an excellent opportunity to expose your commitment to diverse culture as well as our Austin community.

Annual Black History Month Program
In February, we host our Annual Black History Month Program to celebrate the achievement and legacy of all African People. Originally founded in 1926 by historian Carter G. Woodson as “Negro History Week”, we chose to honor those who greatly influenced the lives and social condition of African Americans and continue to do so.
