Medha Vadlamudi
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Medha is a third-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Science and Arts in Neuroscience with a certificate in Spanish for Medical Professions. She is interested in studying the impact of prolonged hormone exposure on PTSD symptoms, brain structure, and function as a part of the team at the NeuroTap lab. In the future, she plans to pursue an MD/PhD and continue female neuroscience research.
Chrislyn Basil
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Chrislyn is a second-year undergraduate student at the University of Texas at Austin pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Health and Society, and a minor in Philosophy. She is specifically interested in the effects of trauma on the course of neurodegenerative disorders in early childhood and the elderly population. She looks forward to being a part of the NeuroTap Lab and learning about specific research techniques. In the future, Chrislyn plans on pursuing an MD and working with children!

Emma Hodge
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Emma is a third-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience, a Bachelor of Science in Biophysics, and a Certificate in Core Texts and Ideas. She is specifically interested in the neurocircuitry of trauma and larger-scale neuro networks but is also eager to learn more about different neuroscience research techniques and methodologies. She loves anything to do with the brain and is excited about participating in the NeuroTap Lab! After she graduates from UT, Emma plans on pursuing a PhD in cognitive neuroscience and continuing to do neuroscience research.

MacLean Arnett
Undergraduate Research Assistant
MacLean is a second-year student at UT pursuing a major in Neuroscience and Certificates in Business of Healthcare and Scientific Computation and Data Sciences. He is interested in exploring large-scale neurocircuitry and the neurophysiology underlying PTSD and hopes to pursue an M.D.
Brianna Garcia
Undergraduate Research Assistant/ Intern
Brianna is a fourth-year Health Promotion & Behavioral Science major at the University of Texas at Austin. She is looking forward to researching models of memory and decision making among individuals who are diagnosed with PTSD and those without PTSD. She will pursue Physician Assistant school after undergrad, where she hopes to one day work and contribute towards the field of psychiatry and woman’s health.

Rebecca Black
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Rebecca is a third-year student pursuing a double major in Psychology and Humanities Honors: Developmental Trauma in Children and Medicine as well as certificates in pre-medicine and Patients, Practitioners, and Cultures of Care. She is interested in learning about the neurocircuitry and structure of developmental trauma throughout the lifespan. In the future, Rebecca plans to pursue an MDPhD to become a child and adolescent psychiatrist.
Hasya Yelisetty
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Hasya is a third-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience with a minor in Statistics and Data Science. She is interested in exploring how post-traumatic stress disorder influences patterns of learning, memory, and emotional regulation, particularly through neural and behavioral frameworks as a part of the team at the NeuroTap lab. In the future, she plans to pursue an MD and apply her understanding of neuroscience to improve trauma-informed care in clinical settings.

Katie Gaston
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Katie is a second-year undergraduate at the University of Texas at Austin pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, and minors in Educational Psychology and Spanish. She is specifically interested in exploring the impact of substance abuse and early life adversity in patterns of decision making and social prediction, as a member of the NeuroTap lab. In the future, she plans to pursue an MD and work in a field relating to women’s or adolescent health.

Ritu Suresh
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Ritu Suresh is a second year undergraduate student at the University of Texas at Austin pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience. She is excited to learn about the neural mechanisms of fear extinction and emotion regulation following trauma. She looks forward to pursuing an MD and applying the skills she has learned from the Neuroptap lab into future clinical practice.
