The Junior Finals

The Junior Finals take place in two sessions. In the first part, competitors perform a sonata movement with piano by Beethoven, Schubert or Brahms. They will also play a demanding piece of chamber music; a work for violin and cello by Norwegian composer and violinist Johan Halvorsen on a theme by Georg Friederich Handel. In the second half each finalist performs their chosen virtuoso work accompanied by the University of Texas Symphony Orchestra.

The winners will be announced at the end of the evening.
