UTC Online : App user interface, product benefits, strategy and project progress…

Since the summer of 2022, we’ve been working relentlessly in pursuit of concept product development for the university educational collaboration app and have achieved several milestones that marks a great prospective implication to the future student community of the University of Texas at Austin.

UT-Collab online is an academic project which is being developed for the future students of any university to be used free of cost. This is being researched, planned, developed and analyzed from several angles for the best user experience and a successful launch.

So, what does the app project look like as of now and how far did we progress?

The study of UT-Collab app as a research project provided us insights for the product development strategy. The conclusion derived from UTC-Online app are as below –

  1. App based online communication is demanding and more students are willing to try this as a future of collaboration platform which is equally secure, community controlled and multi-purpose.
  2. Community based projects are welcomed as they are in the hands of the students and can be upgraded and modified by the consensus of individual/group users.
  3. Event feature is extremely well suited for student community group engagements.
  4. Job, networking and training features will ensure that no one is left behind and everyone can learn and grow in the ever changing global scenario.

So, what did we do outstanding and where are we struggling?

  1. We did a good job in understanding the feedbacks, research and other product roadmaps to get the basic MVP app user interface-

2. We collected reviews and user understanding on the concept of the product and got responses which helped us focus on the engaging nature and product features to be implemented in the app.

User survey suggested certain feature and options to be beneficial than the other, some survey feedbacks are –

3. Finally, we are now in the way of generating even more traction by leveraging social media, online onboarding and in-person events that can help the project and university students.

We are 100+ followers in Instagram completely by organic growth and over 200+ total user footprints in the project in this pre-launch social media brand awareness.
(Sept. 2022)

So, what’s next? A 100% secure and free-to-use collaboration platform for next-gen students. The project has the potential to be impactful in removing the gaps in education, comprehension of facts, extracurricular involvement, etc. to a large extent.

We are working will several new development in terms of product improvement and outreach which can add positively to the overall project experience.

Collaborative Writing – “write a book together”

Hi new longhorns, welcome to this brand new academic session with lots of things to learn and do. Academic writing is an important part of higher studies and it is crucial to know the process of writing a good piece of literary article. A proper template, coordinated word flow and external citations – these are only a few points to be considered while writing. It is a fact that we spend more time learning and less in writing. To buckle up, we can take part in a collaborative writing session (online via zoom) to write a book of your choice!!

How about writing a book together? Or a scientific article? maybe a useful DIY guide? 🚀🚀🚀

Collaborative writing is not a new concept but has been in practice since a long time. Research papers, team reports, mega software projects, complex engineering solutions, and so on, collaborated writing has been a tried and tested way to use many hands and minds towards a single cause.

If you’re an university student, then there’s a good chance that you’ll have to write a thesis paper at some point of time.

So why not start in a fun way? 💡

Be a better writer together

Here in this Collaborative Writing contest, we are going to write a book together. It will be a compilation of well thought and read contents in the form of a comprehensive paper.

The topic can be anything – fictional, reality, scientific or any topic of individual choice. For example, you can research and write down the history of modern computers or work on an article about the current rising global warming situation; anything which incites your curious mind is encouraged.

The link to sign-up for the program is -> Form Link

We ought to have some ground rules though:

  1. Voting for topics – we’ll run voting via polls and shortlist a few topics.
  2. Groups will be formed and assigned according to their chosen topics.
  3. Writings should be organized in the form of a thesis template -> Like this (don’t worry, we’ll help you with that.)
  4. Citations are encouraged for all external references.
  5. Limitation of page count to 50 pages per book with 5-10 pages per contributing author.
  6. Bi-monthly online sync up for progress monitoring and moderation of contents.
  7. Social media management and internal media publications.
