For Mother’s Day, the Population Reference Bureau released a report on time use patterns of married, cohabiting and single mothers based on research by CCF Member Joanna Pepin. This researched was published last year in Demography and finds that married and cohabiting mothers do more housework than single moms.
“Being in a partnership appears to ratchet up the demands or expectations for housework,” according to Pepin.
