Your story matters, and you can make a difference. There are several ways to get involved:
Education: If you are interested in education classes about dementia and/or Alzheimer’s research where you work, live, pray or play
Support: If you or someone you love is in need of counseling services related to dementia or family caregiving
Engagement: If you want to become involved in research opportunities, donating or sponsorship, or volunteering with the Walk to End Alzheimer’s

In 2022, Alyssa Aguirre received the Sojourn Scholar Leadership Award, which is generously funded by The Cambia Health Foundation. In its ninth year, this program identifies, cultivates and advances the next generation of palliative care leaders. Alyssa’s research project is aimed at recognizing and supporting the role of dementia caregivers as vital members of the healthcare team who also need support. She is focused on systems transformation work to bring person-centered, palliative care principles to support caregiver and older adults.
