PeriPAN Project ECHO

PeriPAN Project ECHO

Welcome to the Texas Perinatal Psychiatry Access Network (PeriPAN) ECHO series registration. PeriPAN ECHO is a collaborative learning experience between four pilot regions of Texas. Using professional development and case-based learning, providers will gain innovative and evidence-based strategies for working with perinatal and postpartum mental health in free, virtual sessions.

What is Project ECHO?

Originating in 2003 at the University of New Mexico Health Science Center, Project Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes (ECHO) was designed to create a forum for specialists to share knowledge and bridge the gap between the care provided in academic medical centers and rural areas.

Using video collaboration software, providers were able to meet, share knowledge, staff cases, and create a mentoring forum to learn from each other, raising the quality of care delivered to underserved patient populations. Over time, the model has expanded and diversified to other populations and learning collaborations.
