About CPAN Direct

CPAN Direct

What Is CPAN Direct?

CPAN now offers free, one-time consultations with a CPAN child and adolescent psychiatrist!

By tapping into the expertise of CPAN psychiatrists, health care providers can receive valuable guidance that enables them to better assess complex cases and optimize treatment plans for the ongoing care of children and adolescents.

Requirements to use CPAN Direct
:

  • The child is not experiencing a mental health emergency (threatening harm to self or others).

  • The child’s parent or guardian gives written consent and agrees to be present during the CPAN Direct consultation.

  • The pediatric health clinician expects to remain the child’s primary mental health provider.

How To Acess CPAN Direct

— Call Dell Medical School CPAN at 888-901-2726, option 3, option 1.

— Request to speak with a CPAN psychiatrist.

— Receive a callback from a CPAN psychiatrist within 30 minutes.

During the provider consultation, the CPAN psychiatrist will determine if the patient is a good fit for CPAN Direct. If a Direct patient consultation is appropriate, the psychiatrist will request contact information to schedule a consultation with the family.

Once the patient consultation has been completed, CPAN will schedule a follow-up consultation with the provider to review recommendations.

Direct consultations are evaluations meant to help with diagnostic clarification and to give recommendations that providers can incorporate into their care.

After the one-time patient consultation, the primary care provider is expected to continue the patient’s mental health care. If a psychiatric provider is recommended, CPAN will provide referrals.
