Bio:
Cherie Simpson, PhD, APRN-CNS is currently a Clinical Nurse Specialist with Senior Adult Specialty Healthcare, where she provides medical management to geriatric psychiatric patients, predominantly with a diagnosis of dementia. Cherie earned her MBA from St. Edward’s University and continued on to earn a masters in Adult Health Nursing and her Doctorate in nursing at The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing. Cherie has years of experience conducting and disseminating scholarly research, while completing her graduate studies at The University of Texas School of Nursing and throughout her practice career.
Cherie’s extensive research experience in the field of psychiatry is demonstrated by her countless publications and presentations at a local, regional and national level. Cherie has also received multiple honors and awards over the years for her studies, research and publications in psychiatric practice and continues to actively serve on a wide variety of professional service organizations.
