Erica Garcia-Pittman, M.D., received her undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Rice University in Houston, TX, and completed her Medical Degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio, TX. Her psychiatry residency training was completed at UT Southwestern Medical Center Dallas and she completed a specialized fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry from The University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle. Dr. Garcia-Pittman is Board Certified in Psychiatry and Geriatric Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).
She has an academic appointment as an Assistant Professor, from UT Austin Dell Medical School in the Department of Psychiatry, as well as, joint appointments as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Departments of Psychiatry from UT Medical Branch Austin and Texas A&M Health Science Center.
Dr. Garcia-Pittman specializes in Geriatric Psychiatry and previously served as the Medical Director of the Generations Outpatient Program. She is also the current Seton Mind Institute outpatient clinical director and is the rotation site director for the Adult and Geriatric resident outpatient clinics.
Dr Garcia-Pittman is an active member of the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry, American Psychiatric Association, Austin Psychiatric Society, Texas Society of Psychiatric Physicians, Travis County Medical Society and Texas Medical Association. And she is currently serving the City of Austin on the Commission on Seniors
