The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy adheres to strict guidelines regarding commercial independence for all Continuing Pharmacy Education programs and events. Exhibitors must comply with ACPE standards on commercial support.
At no time may an exhibitor have any role in the development of the program content or sell or promote any products outside the designated exhibit space or inside the educational space. Exhibitor areas are always set separate from the educational space. Exhibitors are prohibited from bringing any promotional or product materials inside the educational space (room). Exhibitors are prohibited from participating in program planning, content decisions, content development, and content evaluations.
Learners will be informed of exhibitor/sponsor financial support on the website and before the seminar begins, and company/corporate logos will not be included in such disclosures.
Exhibitor Notice from Texas Department of State Health Services – CE Provider
As an accredited CME, NCPD, and CHES provider, the Texas Department of State Health Services, CE Service follows the commercial support standards established by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education and the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
In accordance with these standards, the Texas Department of State Health Services, CE Service has adopted the following policies for exhibits held in conjunction with its events:
- Arrangements for exhibits may neither influence planning nor interfere with the presentation of the event.
- Exhibits cannot be a condition of the provision of commercial support for continuing education events.
- Commercial/promotional materials may not be displayed or distributed in the presentation room immediately before, during, or immediately after the continuing education event.
- Representatives of commercial supporters and exhibitors may attend the continuing education event if they wish but may not engage in sales event in the room where the event is held.
In order to meet requirements of the standards and to maximize benefits to you as an exhibitor, we have made the following arrangements for exhibitors at our conference:
- Exhibits will be placed in (room/area of hotel, etc.) which is (next door, adjacent to, etc.) the event. Exhibits may be displayed between the hours of (time).
- To encourage participants to visit the exhibits, refreshment breaks will be placed in the exhibit area and all exhibitors will be listed in the conference brochure and/or final syllabus.
