CFP: Graduate Association for Comparative Literature Students

Deadline: August 26, 2016

The program in Comparative Literature at the University of Texas is proud to announce that the 13th annual Graduate Association for Comparative Literature Students (GRACLS) Conference will take place on September 24th and 25th, 2016

This year’s conference theme will be “The Extra-Human.” We seek to explore what it is that allows us to reject human exceptionalism and re-orient ourselves toward what is beyond the human, what is a human, inhuman, and post-human. This conference calls for a myriad of approaches that explore what delimits “the human” from “the animal” and “the monstrous.” Most notably, we seek submissions from all walks of academia, including the arts, literatures, anthropology, the performing arts, history, and comparative areas of study.

We invite all interested parties to review the Call for Papers and to submit their proposals by August 26th, 2016 via email at graclsconference2016@gmail.com
