
Darren Smith is a lecturer at the University of Texas McCombs School of Business in the Rosenthal Department of Management. Professor Smith teaches Introduction to Entrepreneurship and Innovation as well as the Social Entrepreneurship Practicum course. He is currently serving as the Texas Enactus Faculty Advisor and a Sam Walton Fellow of Free Enterprise.
In addition to his duties as a lecturer, Professor Smith is a Bridging Disciplines Program faculty mentor and currently works with the Teacher and Learning Technology office on the implementation of AI in the classroom across the University of Texas at Austin.
Professor Smith is pursuing his Ph.D at Oklahoma State University in the Executive Business Administration program with a focus on Entrepreneurship. His research interests include the interaction between neurodiversity, specifically ADHD and Entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, and the application of AI for small business startups.
In addition to his teaching, Professor Smith also runs SparkFinder Labs, an independent consulting agency that specializes in helping startups and social ventures find their SPARK through product discovery, user research, go-to-market strategies, and the creation of program initiatives.
