Last year, we started a regular meeting to read the Rāmāyaṇa of Vālmīki in Sanskrit. The purpose of the group is simply to read together a great and beautiful text in the original language. We use a bilingual edition so that anyone, including those with little or no Sanskrit, can participate, if desired, but we go through the original text. All Sanskrit students, as well as the Sanskrit-curious, are invited to join us anytime.
As before, we will meet most Fridays from 1-2pm during the fall semester in the Meyerson Conference Room on the 4th floor of WCH. Regular updates about where we are in the text, a scan of the semester’s reading, and information about the next meeting are always available at the webpage for the Rāmāyaṇa Colloquium.
We hope you can join us and encourage others who may not receive this message to attend!
