About Us

The UT-Austin Electrochemical Society Student Chapter was founded in 2006 by Dr. Arumugam Manthiram, and it has provided an interdisciplinary forum for students from different branches of the physical sciences and engineering to meet and discuss emerging ideas about electrochemistry and solid-state sciences. Notably, our chapter has been honored by the prestigious Outstanding ECS Student Chapter Award for 2014 from The Electrochemical Society.

Electrochemistry is the heart of UT-Austin!

UT-Austin is home to the distinguished UT Center for Electrochemistry (CEC) and the Texas Materials Institute (TMI). Legendary Faculty have enriched UT Austin, including Allen Bard, Larry R. Faulkner, John Goodenough, and Arumugam Manthiram.

Our chapter is committed to enhancing professional learning and development of personal skills of its members through seminars, social activities, community service, and the promotion of networking in academia and industry. We are always looking for talented and passionate members. Get involved now!
