Dr. Christopher Rausch
PI, Director

Dr. Rausch is an Assistant Professor in the Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering Department (CAEE) at the University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin). Dr. Rausch studies how the intersection of industrialized construction and the circular economy can be used as a strategy to scale the production of the built environment in a sustainable manner.

Dr. Andrew McCoy
co-PI, co-Director

Dr. McCoy is the Director of the Virginia Center for Housing Research holds the Beliveau Professorship, and is Associate Director of the Myers-Lawson School of Construction in the College of Engineering at Virginia Tech. Dr. McCoy’s main area of research involves the diffusion and commercialization of innovative projects in the construction industry.

Dr. Junfeng Jiao
co-PI, Executive Committee Member

Dr. Jiao is an Associate Professor in the School of Architecture at UT Austin. He directs the Urban Information Lab, Texas Smart Cities, and UT Ethical AI Portfolio Program. His research focuses on urban informatics, smart cities, and Ethical AI. He uses different technologies (GIS, GPS, Drones, smart phones, social media, wearable devices, etc.) to quantify cities and understand their impacts on people’s behaviors.

Dr. Fernanda Leite
co-PI, Executive Committee Member

Dr. Leite is the Associate Dean for Research in the Cockrell School of Engineering at UT-Austin, and is the Joe J. King Professor in Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering. She combines expertise in architectural engineering and computing in her construction research, and conducts extensive research in the area of information technology and asset management, with industry and government collaborators.

Dr. Nancy Glenn Griesinger
co-PI, Executive Committee Member

Dr. Glenn Griesinger is a Professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Texas Southern University (TSU). She received her Ph.D. in Statistics from Rice University. Dr. Glenn Griesinger’s research focuses on the interface between artificial intelligence and nonparametric statistics.  She uses nonparametric statistical methodologies to devise new models and predict population parameters for machine learning algorithms.  

Dr. Jeffrey Lowe
co-PI, Executive Committee Member

Dr. Lowe is an Associate Professor in the Department of Urban Planning and Environmental Policy, and Director of the Center of Excellence for Housing and Community Development Policy Research, in the Barbara Jordan-Mickey Leland School of Public Affairs at TSU. Dr. Lowe’s research focuses on social justice and racial equity concerns within the context of community development and housing. 

Dr. Tanyel Bulbul
co-PI, Executive Committee Member

Dr. Bulbul is an Associate Professor and serves as the BC Graduate Program Chair for the Myers-Lawson School of Construction at Virginia Tech. Dr. Bulbul’s research and teaching focuses on automation in design and construction. In her current research, she is exploring automated assembly systems using AR head-mounted displays with a specific focus on information presentation methods, mental workload evaluations using electroencephalogram (EEG), and situational awareness in dynamic construction settings.

Nolan Browne
Executive Committee Member

Mr. Browne is an innovation expert, entrepreneurial executive, investor, fundraiser and board member specializing in commercialization of emerging technologies in energy, automotive, technical R&D and innovation management who excels at developing first-of-kind programs and products, and leading teams of high performing technical, business and political professionals. A 5-time founder with 15 years of C-Suite experience in both startups and multinational corporations, Nol holds advanced economics and business degrees from MIT and Johns Hopkins.
