The Ethnohistory conference will take place during the annual migration of millions of monarch butterflies southward through Texas. The peak period for the fall migration through San Antonio usually occurs in early to mid-October and can be truly spectacular. Near our conference venue, butterflies gather along the Riverwalk where milkweed flourishes. For a map showing current data on the migration, click here.
The San Antonio Botanical Garden, 10 minutes by car from the conference, is a major stop on the flyway.
