Terms
- Active members may serve up to two, three-year terms. Once the first term is complete, the member will be invited to complete a second term if they are in good standing with their attendance and dues.
- After serving two terms as an active member, members will be invited to become a Sustaining member if they are in good standing.
- The dean may invite Honorary members to serve at his discretion.
Annual Dues
In fall 2023, the Executive Committee recommended an increase in annual dues starting in 2024-2025. Active members will pay $2,000, which includes a fee of $700 to help cover administrative costs and a $1,300 tax-deductible donation to The Doty Society. Sustaining members will pay the $700 annual fee as well as an optional additional tax-deductible donation to The Doty Society.
Membership dues for active members in 2023-2024 are $1,500. This includes a fee of $300 to help cover the administrative costs for the council and a $1,200 tax-deductible donation the The Doty Society, the dean’s unrestricted fund.
Sustaining members are asked in 2023-2024 to pay the $300 annual fee as well as an optional additional donation to The Doty Society.

Meetings
The council meets twice annually, once in the fall and once the spring. While fall meetings are hosted on the UT campus, spring meetings are held regionally throughout Texas or another location of interest to the council.
