Friendship! (2010) explores friendship, freedom, and self-discovery in the aftermath of the Berlin Wall’s fall. The story follows Tom (Matthias Schweighöfer), a young man from East Germany, who dreams of traveling to the United States. Determined to reunite with his long-lost father in San Francisco, he convinces his shy best friend Veit (Friedrich Mücke) to join him. With little money and barely any English, the two friends land in New York and set off on an adventurous cross-country journey filled with mishaps, culture shocks, and comic misunderstandings.
