German Language Courses German Language Sequence Every semester, the German language program offers three entry-level language courses as part of the language sequence. You can find our current or upcoming course offerings for these entry-level courses here. The “fast track” option: GER 604 + GER 612. This is an intensive course sequence that allows you to complete your language requirement in two semesters. The “slow and steady” option: GER 506 + GER 507 + GER 612. In this course sequence, students take more time to cover the basics. Students complete their language requirement in 3 semesters. Intermediate “Bridge” Courses When students finish the entry-level language classes, they then enroll in our Intermediate courses, which act as a “bridge” to advanced study in Germanic Studies. GER 322D: Focuses on learning about German society from the perspective of the individual, while providing continued opportunities to improve grammatical competencies, spoken German, and literacy skills. GER 332E: This course focuses on learning about German society and communities, while providing continued opportunities to improve grammatical competencies, spoken German, and literacy skills.
