The Health Behavior Research and Training Institute team and partners from NASW and NASW Foundation participated in Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) Impact Week in Washington, D.C. HBRT presented, “Strengthening Social Work Education to Prevent Substance-Exposed Pregnancy,” at the Impact Week poster reception and also took part in the FASD National Partner Network meeting for grantees of a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention-funded (CDC) project to prevent alcohol and other substance use during pregnancy. Other grantees in attendance included the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

The poster was presented by HBRT directors Mary Velasquez and Kirk von Sternberg, along with HBRT senior health strategist Anna Mangum. HBRT senior program manager Diana Ling and NASW Foundation Fund Development Manager Kerri Chriswell joined Drs. Velasquez and von Sternberg and Anna Mangum for the CDC NPN Partners Meeting to share resources created through the grant, and discuss the NPN’s impact and future collaborative efforts.
