The goal of research in the HOPE lab is to conduct studies that contribute to scientific knowledge that helps individuals achieve optimal health and wellness. When innovative interventions and treatments are designed, a critical component of success is active participation by the targeted population. Thus we prioritize health optimization (HO) as well as program engagement (PE) and implementation. The guiding principle of our research is the bio-psycho-social-spiritual perspective, which acknowledges the deep interconnectedness between biological, psychological, socio-environmental, and spiritual factors in human development and health. Our current research focuses on intervention and implementation science in the fields of addiction and mental health.
