February 2, 2026, Filed Under: Blog, Lead Story2026 Kenya Needs Assessment Trip Information We are pleased to announce plans for an upcoming Spring 2026 Kenya Needs Assessment Trip, building on the work from our Spring 2025 collaboration with the Kenya Red Cross in Kakuma Refugee Camp and the Kalobeyei Settlement. This trip will continue our focus on community-centered engineering solutions in areas such as water, sanitation, waste management, and infrastructure, with opportunities for hands-on fieldwork, needs assessment, and early-stage prototyping alongside local partners. January 28, 2026, Filed Under: Blog, Lead StoryNew Project Announcment We are excited to welcome a new project to this year’s cohort: Portable Ultra-Sound Device for Mosquito Larvae Removal. This project focuses on developing a portable ultrasound device that uses 18–30 kHz sound waves to eliminate mosquito larvae in small bodies of water. By targeting mosquito breeding at the larval stage, the project aims to reduce disease transmission and improve water sanitation, particularly in under-resourced refugee camp settings.
