Tam was born and raised in Vietnam. She earned her BS degree in Chemistry from California State University, Long Beach. During her undergraduate, she had worked under Professor Michael Schramm to study the catalytic activities of Au cavitands on alkyne-acid intramolecular reactions and develop new chiral cavitands. In 2019, Tam decided to attend the University of Texas at Austin for her Ph.D. degree and joined the Hull group. She interests in developing new methodologies in transition-metal-catalyzed reactions and asymmetric photoreactions. She enjoys traveling, cooking, exploring new restaurants in her free time.
