The Humanities Institute is continually working to expand our community. Toward this end, we offer a series of public lectures as part of our Ho China Studies Lecture Series and our Distinguished Lecture Series, as well as from our Cline Visiting Professor. Our Difficult Dialogues program hosts public forums and, in partnership with the Austin Public Library, a series of “Controversy & Conversation” film screenings, held on the first Thursday of every month.
Members of non-profit organizations in Central Texas who are interested in pursuing a problem or question related to their organization and its constituency are encouraged to apply for our Community Sabbatical program.
University of Texas faculty are invited to apply for our Faculty Fellows Seminar, designed to engage faculty, students, visiting lecturers, and the broader community in a new topic chosen every two years in partnership with another university program.
