CORPORATE OPPORTUNITIES
Through corporate interaction, we strive to:
- Inform students of career opportunities in power engineering
- Link interested companies to job-seeking power engineering students
- Obtain corporate support for outreach projects and other society functions
Below are ways that your company can get involved with our student branch chapter of IEEE PES. In particular, we would like to invite you to partner in our outreach efforts. Our outreach events for the school year: Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day, explore UT, and Edison Talks where we reach thousands of students in the Austin area.
Please contact us if you would like more information or if you would like to support an event/project.
We look forward to partnering with you and thank you for your time!
Our sponsors this semester:
TI, ERCOT, Exxon, L3 Technologies
PRESENTATION AT A GENERAL MEETING
About:
General meetings educate members on the power & energy industry, focus on current engineering challenges, and facilitate relationships between companies and students.
What We Provide:
We will advertise the event, provide our members, food, and a reserved room.
What our Corporate Partners provide:
A speaker with a prepared 45 – 60 minute presentation. There is a recommended $1000 donation to allow us to continue to have our weekly meetings.
LUNCH AND LEARN
About:
A chance for corporate representatives to meet with UT PES students in a casual setting. General meetings educate members on the power & energy industry, focus on current engineering challenges, and facilitate relationships between companies and students.
What we provide:
We will advertise the event, provide our members, food, and a reserved room.
What our Corporate Partners provide:
3+ company representatives. There is a recommended $500 contribution to allow us to provide for this event.
WORKSHOP
About:
A workshop on usable workforce skills that allows our members to gain knowledge about the power and energy fields while also interacting with corporate representatives in a non-formal setting. Though we feel that our members will benefit more from technical workshops than those teaching soft-skills, it is not a requirement.
What we provide:
We will advertise the event, provide our members, reserve a room, and provide for technological requirements. Food may also be provided depending on the arrangement.
What our Corporate Partners provide:
Corporate representatives comfortable with leading a workshop and guiding students through the chosen topic. The recommended contribution depends on the requirements of the workshop.
PROJECTS
About:
UT PES sponsors a projects team, which allows our members an opportunity to apply their academic knowledge in a real life and hands-on application. You may see the projects page for more information on past and in-progress projects.
What we provide:
We provide supplies, members, and a workspace.
What our Corporate Partners provide:
A corporate partner may request that members work on a specific type of project to provide support in the form of corporate representatives and/or funds.
Thank you for your interest and we look forward to working with you.
