The Inventors Program empowers interdisciplinary teams of science and engineering undergraduate students to turn scientific discoveries into societal impact.
THROUGH THE INVENTORS PROGRAM, STUDENTS WILL…
Get connected to industry research experiences and learn the process of taking a product to market by:
• Talking to real potential users/customers of your team’s product or service
• Prototyping products using 3-D printers and other equipment
• Conducting evidence-based product experiments
• Developing a marketing plan
Students develop a team around a particular concept, and learn about the processes involved in taking science-related concepts to markets. During the Inventors Program, students have immersive experiences in commercialization with community and industry stakeholders. The Inventors curriculum is specifically designed from entrepreneurial processes that help both scientists and marketers quickly understand important customer and market concepts.
The Inventors Program is designed for Natural Science and Engineering students. First-generation and underrepresented students strongly encouraged to participate.
