David was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. Prior to moving to Austin, David completed a Ph.D. in Psychology at University of Nevada, Las Vegas. His research focused on auditory scene analysis (i.e., perceptually organizing noisy environments) and speech comprehension. He really enjoys learning about new and exciting research. In graduate school, he enjoyed attending research talks. Now a lecturer at Texas State University, he still finds research talks one of the “perks” of the job. His career goal is to pursue UX/HCI. His personal interests have become embarrassingly boring as he has gotten older. As a teenager, he enjoyed laser tag, “devil sticks”, and card games. Now he enjoys watching movies and listening to music.
