About

My name is Jacob Kruel and I’m a Geosciences MS student at the University of Texas at Austin, with a focus on hydrology, soil science, and ecosystem responses to wildfire. My research aims to improve our understanding of how fire alters hydrological processes and soil structure, particularly in semi-arid landscapes. Beyond the natural sciences, I’m interested in water resources management, urban planning, and climate resilient infrastructure in cities. I’m passionate about bridging the gap between science and real-world application. See the Research menu for more detailed descriptions of my previous and current projects.
