Our vision is to have a healthy Austin community free of disparities in kidney disease and health inequalities.
Mission
Mission: to support the Austin Kidney Health Disparities CAB by facilitating relationships, providing counsel, updating protocols, and working toward improved service delivery in the investigation, prevention, and treatment.
Our primary goal is to facilitate interventions that mitigate the burden of social determinants of health that are driving kidney disease disparities in our community.
Goals
Identifying community needs and policies that must be addressed in order to advance kidney health for all people in Central Texas
Partner to design and create programs and policies to address identified gaps, and conduct research that advances social change
Partner in all phases of program development and research, from planning, design, implementation, and evaluation to translation and dissemination
Responsibilities
To ensure that the KCAB is conducting well-coordinated research to eliminate kidney disease disparities in Austin, Texas
Meetings –twelve (12) board meetings in 2024, subsequent meetings subject to funding
Terms – One 3-year term subject to funding
Advocacy – Be a community advocate for the KCAB, facilitate translation of findings into community change
