Mia Greer has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Health Administration from the University of
Alabama. She is a registered nurse with more than 30 years of nursing experience and 10 years of
clinical laboratory management. For the past eight years, she’s overseen and managed the operations
side of a national laboratory. During this time, she played an integral role in the start-up and operations
of laboratories in 13 states. A member of the Texas Health Care Association, Mia holds a CLIA certificate
from the state of Texas.
A voracious reader and wordsmith, Mia is a thought leader and a visionary who strategizes and strives to
innovate existing things into something that can have a greater, more profound impact. Close
associates, colleagues, and clients describe Mia as compassionate, consistent, deliberate, focused,
resilient, intelligent, and wise. The go-to leader with integrity, Mia is accountable and can be counted

She enjoys eating at restaurants and loves to devour delicious seafood. Adventurous, Mia has had the
privilege of traveling all over the world, experiencing cultures, expanding her knowledge, and engaging
in thoughtful, meaningful conversations, all of which have influenced the woman, leader, and servant
that she is today.
Mia is a dedicated member of the R.O.C.K., ATX church, (formerly Rock Round R.O.C.K). Through her
persistent, empowering leadership, and as part of the Growth Ministry, and the COO of Community
Coalition for Health (C2H), she has successfully planned and implemented all of C2H’sprogramming. She
is also the liaison between the community and C2H, a dynamic program that Mia fiercely champions to
empower patients with Diabetes throughout the community with the tools they need to effectively
manage the disease, while inspiring them with motivational activities to help them to lead healthier,
productive, and more intentional living.
Tessa Novick, M.D., MSW, MHS, is a nephrologist with a primary clinical interest in caring for people with kidney disease who come from marginalized populations.
Originally a Texas native, Novick grew up in North Dallas. She is a proud graduate of New York University, where she attained a bachelor’s and master’s degree in social work. She has previous experience working with people experiencing homelessness and individuals experiencing substance use disorders. She ultimately became a physician to combine social work and medicine by addressing the medical needs of people with complex medical issues in their environment.
Novick earned her medical degree with honors at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. She completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in nephrology at Johns Hopkins. During her time in residency and fellowship, she was known for her professionalism, work ethic, clinical skills and resident teaching.
Novick’s research training includes a master’s of health science in epidemiology from Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health. Her research interests include disparities in kidney disease, social determinants of health and improving care delivery for marginalized people with kidney disease. She is particularly interested immigrant populations with kidney disease, pain medications and the impact of housing on clinical outcomes in kidney disease.
Michelle Osuna-Diaz is a doctor in psychology who graduated from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras campus. Osuna-Diaz holds a B.A. in criminal justice with a major in forensic psychology and a minor in law and society. She also pursued a master’s in social community psychology and has postgraduate certification in nonprofit business administration.
Osuna-Diaz worked as a research assistant, research coordinator, program coordinator, supervisor, program evaluator and director in different settings but mostly in academic and nonprofit organizations. She has also taught math, sciences and history for five years at two mostly Hispanic population charter schools in Austin, Texas. Osuna-Diaz works to make community-academic connections and is also co-developing an intervention to address social determinants of health in dialysis patients and high-risk populations prone to develop chronic kidney disease.
Brendon York is a dedicated social worker currently working at the Sunrise Navigation
Center in Austin, Texas. He is deeply committed to providing comprehensive services
and support to people in need. Brendon holds a BSW (Bachelor of Social Work) from
Texas State and plans to pursue a Master's in Social Work to obtain a clinical license.
His responsibilities include assisting clients in accessing healthcare services, managing
medications, and addressing various related challenges. During his tenure, he has
developed skills in de-escalation, conflict resolution, problem-solving, communication,
time management, and active listening.
Brendon is actively pursuing certifications as a Community Health Worker (CHW) and a
Community Navigator through the Texas Health & Human Services Commission. He is
also expanding his knowledge of housing and rehousing programs in the community.
Outside of work, Brendon enjoys staying active by going to the gym and exploring the
hiking trails in Austin. He also has a passion for comedy shows and hopes to participate
in open mic nights in the future. Additionally, Brendon is an avid sports fan and loves to
learn about new things and step out of his comfort zone.
David grew up in Los Angeles, California, and holds a B.A. in Business Administration from
Concordia University, Irvine. He is currently a Community Health Worker (CHW) at Dell Medical
School, The University of Texas at Austin, where he is involved in a pilot study focusing on CHW-
led care transitions for dementia patients at Dell Seton Medical Center. Before joining the KCAB
Lab, David worked as a CHW on an intervention aimed at addressing the social determinants of
health in dialysis patients.
David is a bilingual Spanish speaker with a background as a private Certified Nurse Assistant. He
is currently applying to medical school, with a keen interest in understanding heart health
issues affecting underserved communities. Outside of work, David swims competitively with the
Longhorn Aquatics Masters Swimming Team and enjoys swimming at Barton Springs Pool. He
also volunteers as an Advocacy Liaison with the Pflugerville Police Department.
Maralinda Pérez-Rivera has a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. She taught Sport massage therapy and personal training for almost 3 years before moving to Texas. Her passion for wellness and sports has provided her with different experiences in the field allowing her to work with different groups including wounded warriors, kids, youth, elderly, among others. This passion opens the path to help others in different ways, that is how she encountered the National Kidney Foundation. Maralinda served first as a contractor and then as the Program Manager for the National Kidney Foundation Serving Texas for almost 6 years, where she was employed until July 2024. In this role Maralinda coordinated and executed the foundation’s kidney screenings all around Texas, to help prevent and create awareness of kidney disease. She also provided support for the coordination and execution of all other educational, preventive and awareness programs of the foundation. These programs provide a lifeline for kidney patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and all those affected by the disease. The foundation offers to educate the community and the professionals. Mrs. Pérez also supports the fundraising side to help continue educating and advocating for the kidney community. Now, she’s focusing on serving the Austin community and surrounding areas supporting the Austin Kidney Community Advisory Board and its mission in eradicating the barriers that exist in the field of health and the lack of resources for marginalized communities.
Maralinda loves spending time with her family. As an Army wife, she understands the importance of quality time over quantity. In her spare time, she loves to workout. She is passionate about wellness, so much so that she has competed in Olympic weightlifting, Powerlifting, Bodybuilding, Judo, among other sports!
Llegué a la ciudad de Austin, Tx en febrero de 2017 y en agosto de 2018 fui contratada por MIgrant Clinician
Network para coordinar la Ventanilla de salud del Consulado General del México en Austin. En diciembre
del 2020, se sumaron a mis responsabilidades apoyar con la supervisión de las Ventanillas de salud de
Eagle Pass, TX y Del Rio, TX. Las tres ventanillas pertenecen a la misma agencia fiscal, MIgrant Clinician
Network.
A lo largo de estos casi seis años mi labor ha sido impulsar acciones y servicios preventivos para la
población vulnerable, así como facilitar el acceso a los servicios de salud para satisfacer las necesidades
de atención medica de la comunidad migrante y poblaciones desatendidas. Dentro de los logros
alcanzados, la Ventanilla de Salud Austin cuenta con una red de 120 aliados, con los cuales trabajamos de
manera conjunta,promoviendo los servicios, recursos comunitarios y llevando a cabo ferias de salud todos
los viernes en las instalaciones del consulado.
Amanda Crowley-Rios currently serves as Senior Program Director for the National Kidney
Foundation Serving Texas, where she has been employed since 2014. In this role Amanda
coordinates and executes the foundation’s educational, preventative and awareness programs.
These programs provide a lifeline for kidney patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and all
those affected by the disease.
Amanda received her bachelor’s degree in public relations and business foundations certification
from the University of Texas at Austin.
Coming from a family of educators, she is passionate about educating the community and leaving a
lasting impact on the areas she serves.
Paige Haddock is a devoted dialysis social worker currently working at an inpatient dialysis unit
in Austin, Texas. Paige graduated with her Master’s in Social Work from Texas State University,
where she developed a passion for helping others and had a desire to make a meaningful
impact on people’s lives. She is currently working towards her Clinical Social Work License to
provide counseling services to patients experiencing difficulties adjusting to chronic medical
conditions. In her current role, she provides comprehensive support to patients with End Stage
Renal Disease and undergoing dialysis, offering both emotional guidance and practical
resources to improve their quality of life. She takes pride in empowering patients through
education, advocacy and connecting them with essential community and healthcare services. In
her free time, Paige enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephew, hanging out with close
friends and traveling to new places.
Adiee Gonzales is the Senior Manager of Community Impact at Austin Community Foundation.
In her role she is responsible for leading the programming and grant strategies of ACF’s
signature grantmaking programs—the Hispanic Impact Fund and Women’s Fund and
represents ACF on community-wide coalitions advancing economic mobility for Central Texans.
Adiee graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and has
been working in nonprofits in Central Texas for over 10 years. As a native Texan, and Latina,
she is passionate about the advancement of Latinos in her community. When she's not working
or spoiling her two nieces, you can find her walking her dog Sam alongside her fiancé Robby.
