Vote for UT Orange Bike Project

Recently, GOOD and Clif Bar partnered up to create a contest that had people write in their favorite and most memorable bike stories. The winners of this contest would be given money to donate to their favorite bicycle non-profit. We were lucky enough to have Shiyam, a Texas 4000 alum, enter a story in with OBP as the beneficiary if she were to win. And, it looks like she has made it into the final round. I and everyone involved in Orange Bike would be very grateful if you can go vote for her story– “From Austin to Alaska.” All it takes is a few moments of your time.

Just visit this link:

Thanks for all your support,
Valerie Do

The Orange Bike shop hours are M 4p-7p, W 3p-6p, Sat 10a-1p in the Guadalupe Garage.

Join SIFE – Students in Free Enterprise

From LAHer Liuna Fekravar, founding member of the UT chapter of SIFE:

SIFE, an international nonprofit organization that challenges students to use economic concepts in order to develop outreach projects to improve the quality of life and standard of living of those in need. SIFE combines analytical thinking skills with a passion for serving one’s community in an effort to actually solve local problems.

Developing these projects and then competing (the organization competes regionally, nationally, and then internationally every year) requires more than just vocational skills – we are looking to recruit a diverse team of creative, intelligent, and passionate students, traits that I know a number of LAH students hold.

Our website is www.texassife.org and our membership application is due September 11th:  https://spreadsheets.google.com/a/utexas.edu/spreadsheet/viewform?hl=en_US&formkey=dEd6YnZZc09UaWRnSTdPQ043MWxvd1E6MQ
