Mexic-Arte Museum is looking for volunteers from student organizations and the Austin community for our 36th annual Viva La Vida Festival and Parade on October 26, 2019!

The festival is a huge undertaking for Mexic-Arte and will allow volunteers a chance to network and get a hands-on experience with large-event related tasks and activities. All hours are eligible for volunteer service hours. Additionally, volunteers who donate four or more hours of their time are eligible for a Mexic-Arte Membership, which is good for a whole year and comes with all benefits of an Individual Membership. More information about our memberships can be found on our website, Mexic-ArteMuseum.org. Any help is greatly appreciated, even if it is for a short period of time!
The Festival will be held from 12pm-6pm, while the parade will run from 12pm-1pm with set-up happening from 9am-12pm. We will need volunteers from 6am-10pm, depending on volunteer position and shift time preferences.
We are looking for the following:
· EDUCATION VOLUNTEERS will help teach both children and adults an array of art activities during the festival; these activities will run from 11am-8pm.
· PARADE PROCESSION VOLUNTEERS will help with setting up and carrying forth the parade. The procession will march down historic 6th Street and end at 4th Street and Congress Avenue, marking the transition from the afternoon to the exciting evening portion of the street festival. The set-up time for the parade will be from 9am-12pm, with the parade running from 12pm-1pm. Parade volunteers will meet at the parade staging area at 9:00am.
· INFORMATION VOLUNTEERS will help with the information booth during the festival hours from 12pm-8pm.
· GENERAL FESTIVAL VOLUNTEERS will help with the general festival duties including setting up and loading down equipment and props, hanging up decorations, and any other help needed throughout the day. This is the area that requires the most early morning and late night assistance. Volunteers will be needed all throughout the day, from 6am-12am midnight.
